About Haulover Beach Park
Haulover Beach Park is a sprawling Miami-Dade County beach park located between Bal Harbour and Sunny Isles Beach. The beach features over a mile of wide, golden sand with consistently strong Atlantic waves that make it one of the best spots in Miami for surfing, bodyboarding, and kite surfing. The park is divided into several sections, each with its own character — the south end is popular with families, while the north end is one of Florida's few designated clothing-optional beaches. Haulover is famous for its Tuesday evening food truck gatherings, where dozens of gourmet food trucks line the parking lot and locals come out for an open-air dining experience. The park also includes a dog-friendly area, tennis courts, a nine-hole golf course, a marina, and a kite shop. Parking is $7 per vehicle on weekdays and $8 on weekends. The beach is less touristy than South Beach and attracts a diverse mix of locals, making it feel like a real Miami experience. Strong ocean currents are common at Haulover, so swimming near the lifeguard stations is recommended. The park's picnic pavilions and grills make it a great spot for group gatherings and beach barbecues.
Haulover Park is a 177-acre (72 ha) urban park owned and operated by Miami-Dade County Parks, Recreation & Open Spaces Department, located in metropolitan Miami, just north of Bal Harbour, Florida. The park is located on a shoal between the Atlantic Ocean and Biscayne Bay, just north of the Broad Causeway and Collins Avenue.
