About Ball & Chain
Ball & Chain is a beautifully restored Little Havana jazz club and bar that originally opened in 1935 and was a favorite of Count Basie and Billie Holiday. After decades of closure, the venue reopened in 2014 and has become one of the most beloved nightlife destinations in Miami. The spacious indoor-outdoor venue features live salsa and Latin jazz bands nightly, a huge pineapple-shaped stage in the back garden, and bartenders pouring some of the strongest mojitos in Miami. The atmosphere is warm, lively, and authentically Cuban — on any given night you'll find locals and visitors dancing salsa together on the floor, sipping Cuban coffee at the bar, and soaking in the Calle Ocho energy. The food menu features elevated Cuban dishes, and happy hour specials make it an affordable option for a night out. Ball & Chain is the perfect introduction to Miami's Cuban culture and Latin music scene, and a far more authentic experience than anything on Ocean Drive.
