About Pérez Art Museum Miami (PAMM)

Pérez Art Museum Miami (PAMM) is Miami's premier contemporary and modern art museum, located in Museum Park on the waterfront of Biscayne Bay in downtown Miami. The museum building itself is a work of art — designed by Pritzker Prize-winning Swiss architects Herzog & de Meuron, it features a dramatic canopy structure with hanging tropical gardens that provide shade and create a seamless connection between indoor gallery spaces and the outdoor waterfront. The permanent collection includes over 3,000 works focusing on 20th and 21st-century international art, with particular strength in art from the Caribbean, Latin America, and the African diaspora. PAMM hosts major rotating exhibitions throughout the year, along with artist talks, film screenings, live performances, and family-friendly workshops. The museum terrace offers some of the best views of Biscayne Bay and the Miami skyline. Admission is free on the first Thursday of every month and every First Friday evening. Pérez Art Museum Miami (PAMM)—officially known as the Jorge M. Pérez Art Museum of Miami-Dade County—is a contemporary art museum that relocated in 2013 to the Maurice A. Ferré Park in Downtown Miami, Florida. Founded in 1984 as the Center for the Fine Arts, it became known as the Miami Art Museum from 1996 until it was renamed in 2013 upon the opening of its new building designed by Herzog & de Meuron at 1103 Biscayne Boulevard. PAMM, along with the $275 million Phillip and Patricia Frost Museum of Science and a city park which are being built in the area with completion in 2017, is part of the 20-acre Maurice A. Ferré Park.
